Teleconcussion
We connect with Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC), injured athletes, and
sometimes parents for post-injury expert neurological history and physical
examination resulting in recommendations for medical management, physical/vestibular/oculomotor
therapy, academic accommodations, restrictions from physical exertion/play
or clearance to initiate return to play protocol and/or clearance for
full return. The program is extremely valued by athletes, ATCs, parents,
coaches, athletic departments, and others because of the following advantages:
- Significant Logistical Advantage – no need to leave school/work for
doctor’s appointment
- Improved Access to Care – schedule within 24 hours or less
- Frequent Follow – Up – see athletes and perform history/examination
assessments several times per week if needed
- Consistent Excellence – ATCs, coaches, parents are assured the entire
team is being managed with the same high quality and standards, rather
than a scenario wherein individual athletes are evaluated by varying practitioners
with varying degrees of expertise in concussion (ER, pediatrician, Neurologist,
Sports Medicine physician, family friend, etc.)
